International Teacher-Scientist Partnership Conference (ITSP)

AAAS and the Science & Health Education Partnership (SEP) at UC San Francisco are organizing a two-day conference about partnering K-12 teachers and STEM professionals.  It will be held February 13-14, 2013 in Boston prior to and in conjunction with the AAAS Annual Meeting.  The ITSP conference agenda will offer a range of activities to inform professionals in the teacher-scientist partnership field and to develop strategies for increasing the number of partnerships and making the public aware of the value of these collaborations.   Topics include:  partnership models, recruiting teachers and STEM professionals, preparing teachers to work in labs and scientists to work in classrooms, evaluation (formative feedback and metrics for success), and sustaining partnership programs.  There will also be a poster session focused on teacher-scientist partnerships at the larger AAAS meeting.
